Canadian Academy of Travel & Tourism

Highland Secondary School is one of only five schools in BC (thirty across Canada) offering this nationally recognized Program. Successful Graduates from the Academy at Highland are in demand, with employers across the country, and with post-secondary institutions. Qualified Graduates are eligible to bypass waiting lists and go directly into the Tourism Program courses at the BC college of their choice.

Students enrolled in the Academy can complete one, or all, of the following industry authorized Certificate programs:

  • FoodSafe Level 1
  • FoodSafe Level 2
  • SuperHost
  • SuperHost Japan
  • Food & Beverage Server (national standards)
  • Front Desk Agent (national standards)
  • Heritage Interpreter (national standards)
  • Local Tour Guide (national standards)
  • Travel Counselor (national standards)
  • St. Johns Ambulance First Aid
  • Serving It Right
  • SQUIRREL
  • InnControl
