Keyboarding
is worth 10% of your Info Tech final mark.
|
Upon arriving in the Info Tech Lab, students log and
proceed to their personal All The Right Type. Students will only be
spending five to ten minutes on keyboarding skills per class, so it
is important that you do your best to improve each time.

What to do:
|
Go to the testing center and move through the tests one at a time. If you type a test at 20 words a minute (WAM), without any mistakes and without looking down, then you may move to the next test. You have three chances to achieve 20 WAM. When you arrive at a test that gives you difficulty, then go to lesson and practice activities associated with that test. |
Remember, the test does not count
unless you are keeping your eyes off the keyboard and are using homerow.

Use the various "centers" in the program to move yourself along faster. Use the lesson center to teach yourself the basic techniques, use the practice areas to improve your technique, and use the testing center to test your technique. |
Remember that you will be evaluated on use of homerow and keeping your eyes off the keyboard. |
