Library of Canada - Here you can find digital image collections of Canada,
government information, archives and take a virtual tour of the actual building.

Chinese Canadian Story: The Yip Sang Family. - This is the story of one
of the early Chinese settlers in Vancouver. It is a great, informative site.

Barkerville Cemetary - Listings of all those buried in the Barkerville
Cemetary.

Archives Amazing Time Machine
- This is a great site that offers sections on the history of Women in BC,
First Nations people, Multiculturalism, Families, BC Resource Development,
Immigration in BC and more. There is also a Teacher's Corner for each section
with classroom activities.
- British
Columbia's Historical Communities
- This is a really nice site for primary classes to learn about communities
and the history of Victoria's Chinatown.
- The
Cariboo Gold Rush - Here you can learn everything you need to know about
the Gold Rush: Transportation, Construction, Women and Roadhouse Maps are
among topics you can choose. Also a "Just for Kids" section and
a Teacher's Corner with lesson plans for teachers of grade 5 and grade 10
(covers Ministry IRPs).
- Craigflower
schoolhouse in Victoria - This is a fantastic site about the history of
the Craigflower area in Victoria. Also has teaching resources.
- Fort
Steele Heritage Town – Pictures and information about Fort Steele, British
Columbia. This is a great site.
- The
Gold Rush Town of Yale - This is a great site to visit to learn about
the Gold Rush. Also has a "Just For Kids Section" and a Teacher's
Corner with activities for in the classroom.

of the Great Explorers of Canada.

Hearne - Samuel
Hearne's diary entries take you on his journey of the exploration of Canada
and he talks about his dealings with the early Aboriginal People.

- This site has lots of information about the history and exploration of Antarctica.
There is also a Virtual Journey to Antarctica taken in 1995.

Geographic Expeditions – Printable maps of countries around the world.
Here you can choose detailed or basic and print maps out. You can get empty
outlines for students to work on. This is an excellent site to visit!
- Geogame
- This is a really neat collaborate project inwhich students enter clues about
our community for other classes to quess where it is and students here read
other school's clues and guess where they are.
- How far
is it? - Use to find distance between 2 places (use Comox instead of Courtenay)

Lycos World Guide to Cities - (Courtenay
is not in here but you can research other cities). Type in the name of the
city in the Search square.
- Earth
and Moon Viewer - View the Earth and Moon from different satellite images
