Jauja

Jauja used to be the first capital of colonial Peru, until Pizarro decided to move the capital of the viceroy to Lima. Jauja receives the most sun of Peru. It is a small historical town with an immense cathedral. Jauja lies in the central Andes-department Junín. Close to Jauja is the Laguna de Paca, a crystal-clear mountain lake.
