Ayacucho is a friendly city with a temperate, sunny climate (2731 m above sea level) with about 100,000 inhabitants. It is an old city with 33 churches. They say there is a church on every street corner!

Ayacucho is the capital of the department with the same name and is situated in Peru's central Andes. The city has a lot to offer but lies somewhat remote. For that reason it is still pretty unknown.
