GENERAL LANGUAGES SITES:

Quia

This is a great site for teachers to use for teaching French, Spanish, German, Chinese and more. Students can practice their language knowledge using flashcards or doing the activities already developed or teachers can create their own using the simple format. Teachers can create quizes and have marks emailed to them by adding their class list.

 

Intertran This is a free translator program that is on the net. Type in what you would like translated, click on the language it is in and the language you would like to see it in and click Translate.

FRENCH SITES:

Speech

The French Speech Synthesis System. Here you can type in a word or phrase in French and hear it spoken in French for you. This site also has a English/ French and French/ English dictionary and will read these words outloud as well.

Scholastic

Books, Authors, and more. This is the Scholastic site in French.

This is a page with lots of links to resources that has been created by a computer mentor teacher in Vancouver.

Coin des Petits

This is a really neat site for younger children and those just learning french. Here you will find some really basic french alphabets, stories and more. There are also some great pages about the holidays.

Boowa &Kwala

This is a good site for Kindergarten kids or early primary classes learning French. Here you will find some fun learning games for basic words.

Caillou

This site is for early primary students and is available in English or French. Students can practice their basic counting, play Find Gilbert amd type letters to make sounds on a keyboard.

l'Atlas Geographique Mondial

This is an excellent site with information about countries with maps and pictures of the flags all in French. Click on the continent and then click on the country.
