Welcome to School District #71. Effective June 26th, schools will no longer be accepting new registrations. We have a centralized registration process for all new registrations for School District #71 which runs from June 26 to September 15. Please come to the School Board Office (607 Cumberland Road) between 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm to complete the registration process. At the time of registration, please make sure you bring the following information with you:
All new registrants will be contacted with their placement prior to September 5, 2017. Due to an increase in enrolment we cannot guarantee placement in neighbourhood schools. Please be aware that the school board office will be closed from July 17-August 14 inclusive and there are no online registrations accepted.

On May 5th, Brooklyn students participated in Student Vote. This program helps students learn about government and the electoral process, provides opportunities for them to research the candidates and issues, and encourages dialogue amongst students and their families. During Student Vote, students go through the voting process by taking on the role of deputy returning officers and poll clerks and casting ballots for the official election candidates. Results province-wide are tabulated and sent in. Results of Student Vote are shared publicly after the close of the official polls.
Congratulations to our Brooklyn students and families who raised $3841.15 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through our Jump Rope for Heart event. Our goal was $2500 and students will receive extra recess time for exceeding this goal. This is Brooklyn's 22nd year participating in Jump Rope for Heart which has been running for 35 years.
Congratulations to our Destination Imagination team, 7 Squishy Cats, who participated in the Provincial tournament on April 8th in Surrey. They pulled together as a team and demonstrated great creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills, resulting in a 1st place finish in a very difficult Fine Arts category at the middle school level. Well done, 7 Squishy Cats! We are so proud of you!
