Teacher's Page:

This WebQuest is a Humanities based project that integrates Social Studies and English learning outcomes. Students research information about one of the world's major religions, read stories from this religion, and write their own religious narratives based on their research. Students then create a HyperStudio stack to present their stories.

The quality of these narratives is improved if students have already completed a unit on the elements of short stories and have received a brief introduction to the world's major religions. As well, student work is improved when they receive feedback and suggestions after they complete each main stage of this assignment.

Provincial Learning Outcomes Addressed (British Columbia Ministry of Education IRPs):

2. Gather and organize a body of information from print and non-print sources, including electronic sources (Social Studies 8).

3. Plan, revise, and deliver written presentations (Social Studies 8).

4. Use a variety of resources to obtain background information (English 8).

5. Use grammatically correct language when writing (English 8).

6. Compose or create works of communication for specific audiences and purposes including to entertain (Eng. 8).
