This week's hours:

Monday – closed

Tuesday – 8:30 – 12

Wednesday – 8:30 – 9:45 then to Glacier View Lodge

Thursday – 8:30 – 12

Friday – Pirate Day 10 – 11:30 at Royston Wrecks

Hope you are enjoying this warm sunshine, it is supposed to continue this coming week.  We will be going outside for gym every day.

Monday is a holiday and all schools are closed.

Since the weekend was nice and warm first thing Tuesday morning we will go out to the garden to water our potatoes.

Back in the classroom we will continue to work on our cardboard pirate ship.  You will also find a pool with ocean stuffies that may interest your child.  This is an opportunity to build on their language and add new words and names of things from the ocean.

Tuesday for snack your child can build a pirate ship with cheese and apples.

Wednesday is our regular morning to Glacier View Lodge.  Everyone is welcome to come and play.  Last week we had fun blowing bubbles with our grand friends.

Thursday the school's bike in the parking lot is CANCELLED.  We will start it again next week.  You are still welcome to bring your child's bike and they can ride them on the pavement, by the school, when we go outside for gym.

Thursday is buddy day and we are going on a colour hunt in the forest behind the school.  We will head outside at 9:45.

Friday the centre is closed and you are welcome to join me and Meghan Hunt, from Cumberland StrongStart, at the Royston Wrecks (at the end of Hilton Rd, south of Courtenay) for our Pirate Day.  Are those wrecks from pirates?  Will we find treasure?  Come dressed as a pirate and we will have activities set up for you to explore.  The morning runs from 10 – 11:30.  Please bring your own water to drink, a hat, shovel and pail.  Wearing boots is strongly suggested as some of the activities will be on the beach as the tide moves out.

Our caterpillars have started building their chrysalis and will emerge in about a week.  Once they have emerged we will make plans to release them at Glacier View Lodge.

The chicken eggs have about another week before we begin to see cracking.  Our PAC has given us money to take a school bus to Clea's farm to return the chicks.  This will be in early June so watch the next newsletter for information.

Have a great week, Maureen
